APPLICATION PROCESS
If your child is planning on attending college, by now you may be well aware that after working through the
demands of the SAT/ACT, he or she must immediately turn attention from the standardized test to the school
applications.  Sometimes this process can be daunting to both parents and students and put a significant stress
on the parent-child relationship -- so parents turn to me.  As part of the college application process, I:

1.  efficiently and punctually work through the college applications;
2.  communicate with each student's high school, as needed;
3.  practice the interviewing process;
4.  organize each student's high school accomplishments, job experiences, honors, etc.
5.  address the essay portion of the applications.  As such, your child and I will:
  • read through the questions and discuss the meaning of each,
  • narrow down the choices to the most viable options,
  • discuss the importance of the topic selection,
  • discuss the significance of the quality of the writing, and
  • outline the responses.

At that point, each student will be expected to write the essays on his/her own. When the student has finished
well-executed drafts, we will meet again, and I will offer feedback about how to improve the quality of the
essays. It is imperative, however, that the essays be the work of the student and not the work of an adult.

I would be happy to discuss with you the specifics of the application process.  Please feel free to contact me at
